The kitchen is hands-down the busiest and most popular room in your home. It’s the place where family and friends gather, where every meal or snack is prepared, and is often where homework or other tasks are accomplished. The kitchen requires frequent cleaning, and with as much as it is used, keeping a well-organized kitchen can make life much simpler. We’ve compiled some of the best kitchen organization ideas we could find. Implement some or all of them so that you can truly enjoy your kitchen space.
Make space for a pantry.
Whether you have a large walk-in pantry or you incorporate a pantry cabinet, having a designated place to store dry goods is a MUST. If possible, when designing or remodeling your kitchen, a walk-in pantry is preferred. It is a great use of space and, if you ever try to sell your home, is a selling point for prospective buyers.
Make cabinets into drawers.
For storage and organization purposes, drawers provide easier access than cabinets. Installing rolling drawers inside your cabinets will help you to get to your items more easily and use the space more efficiently. Using separators and organizers will keep your drawers neat and tidy.
Have a place for your pots and pans.
If your pots and pans are stacked on top of eachother, it can be cumbersome to find what you need while you are cooking, especially if they fall down while you are rummaging. Using shelves or dividers, ensuring each pan has its place and is easy to find, can make cooking much less stressful.
Install a pull-out cabinet for trash and recycling.
Hiding your trash in a pull-out cabinet keeps it… well, hidden. No one wants to see your trash can, and being able to pull it out to throw things away is much easier than reaching under the cabinet.
Establish a drawer or cabinet to store pet supplies.
Tucking away your pets’ food, treats, medicine, or other items into their own specified cabinet or drawer will keep additional clutter out of sight. It will also make taking care of them much simpler.
Get rid of unnecessary clutter.
This one goes for small appliances, utensils, and dishes. If you aren’t going to use it, and if it’s only going to be in your way, don’t keep it! Keeping an organized, easy to use kitchen starts with removing excess items. Do we have your wheels turning?
